Jamjoom
Pharma is a recently established pharmaceutical production company
belonging to the Saudi group Abdulatif Jamjoom & Bros. The
Company is specialized in the production of vitamins as well as
nutritional, ophtalmic, and dermatological products.
Jamjoom
Pharma has a modern plant, with state-of-the art technology, located
in the industrial zone of Jeddah. Production has started in the
year 2000, and comprises tablets and capsules, skin ointments
and creams, ampules and oral liquids.
Part
of the output is sold in the Saudi market and the rest is exported
to neighboring countries, such as GCC countries, Sudan and Yemen.
ICD
has extended financing amounting to USD 2.6 million to Jamjoom
Pharma to enhance its operations.
The
financing of ICD combines three modes: (i) an installment sale
financing of USD 1.44 million for the acquisition of equipment,
(ii) an Istisna'a financing of USD 0.795 million for the manufacturing
of a stock of medicines, and (iii) a Murabaha financing amounting
to USD 0.456 million for the acquisition of raw and packaging
material.
The
contribution of ICD in this project aims at developing local production
capacity in a vital sector of a member country and help promoting
exports.
